Many labs require a report to be submitted at the end of the lab. All labs should be written in IEEE Conference format:
Language: English
Paper size: US Letter or A4
Format: two-column IEEE conference format
Templates: LateX template and MS Word template
Paper Length: minimum 3 pages and maximum 6 pages
Some tips when writing your lab reports:
All equations should be numbered.
All figures should have a caption, and should be referenced in text (or ask yourself why is it in the document?)
Label the axis on all plots.
Units should be with all numbers.
No adjectives or adverbs should be used, at least not backed up immediately with quantifiable metrics.
The instructor's publications (although old) provide an idea of expectations: https://www.lair.hmc.edu/publications
