Deborah Verhoff has experience designing research services for diverse communities. Deb is the Digital Collections Manager for NYU Libraries, where her team creates and preserves digital content. Deb holds a Master’s in Fine Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and a Master’s in Library and Information Science from Simmons College.
Flora is an educational designer who helps faculty and administrators adapt to educational technologies that enhance teaching and learning for their specific courses. Flora has 16+ years of customer service experience in various industries and 8+ years teaching people how to use various technologies. Flora is currently working towards a Masters of Science in Integrated Digital Media at Tandon School of Engineering.
Logan Alexander Johnson is a storyteller with a passion for creating positive user experiences. He holds a BA from Adelphi University and a Diploma in User Experience Design from NYU. Logan is currently a web designer for NYU’s Digital Communications team.
Nana Kumi is an IT Analyst at NYU IT as part of the Distributed Desktop team, where he works with many aspects of technology and technology services at the university. He is involved in system administration, which involves scripting and working with multiple coding languages.
David Garwin is a currently a Systems Architect at NYU OTSS, starting as a Student Developer in his senior year at Tandon in 2014. Outside of his regular duties at NYU, he creates and participates in programs providing technology education, including this pilot program, StartCamp, ScriptEd, and Network Support Services.
Kanishka Sardana is an IT professional with an MBA in Finance and a Bachelors in IT. He has worked in the IT industry for the last 11 years. He has a deep understanding of financial services, data science, creating data models using Python, API Building, Application Development and ERP Systems.
Katelynn Burns is a graduate of NYU College of Arts and Science with a degree in Urban Design and Architecture Studies and a minor in Earth and Environmental Science. In her current position as Product Owner, Katelynn combines her institutional knowledge, sense of creativity, and leadership skills to help create and implement user centered products and softwares for the NYU community.
Mohamed Farih is a systems analyst for the Operations Technology Services & Support for New York University Information Technology. He graduated college from Saint Peter’s University in 2015 with a degree in Physics and a minor in Mathematics and Business Management. Mohamed’s main job is to support systems, as well as to work closely with clients to troubleshoot issues and answer questions that they may have regarding the systems.
Patrick Burns has served as principal of Robert A Van Wyck Middle School 217 for ten years. He has collaborated with his colleagues to bring global skills to his school community through partnerships with Thomas Edison High School, The Young Women’s Leadership School of Astoria, NYU, Apple, and Google.
Georgia Ioannou‘s responsibilities at Robert A. Van Wyck Middle School 217, in Briarwood, NY, include supervising the science, physical education and health departments for the past 18 months. Her vision is to educate middle school students, providing them with the necessary skills and opportunities to be successful.
Ross Berman is a graduate of Hofstra University. He has been teaching for six years, including his current appointment at Junior High School 217. His teaching philosophy is to “Always be innovating.”
Michael Goldstein has a Bachelor of Arts from Queens College and a Master’s in Science from the College of Mount St. Vincent. Michael has taught at M.S.217 for 19 years. Michael sees himself as a molder of young minds, and his teaching philosophy is to make learning fun.
Moses Ojeda has been an educator for over 20 years. Upon graduating from Thomas A. Edison Career & Technical Education High School, he enrolled in a five year program to become an IT educator, and in 1998 he returned to his alma mater in this capacity. In 2008, he became the department head of CTE at Thomas Edison, and was instrumental in upgrading the CTE offerings to include programs like web design and robotics. Currently, the school offers the most CTE programs and has the highest passing rate of industry certifications in the city. The students have taken 1st place in CTE competitions at the local, state and national level. In 2012, Moses became the principal. He is a graduate of Adelphi University, where he earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Technology.
Elvyn Perez is a product of the NYC public schools systems. He has had the privilege to serve his students for the past 18 years because of the mentorship he received as part of the NYC Department of Education sponsored SVA (Success Via Apprenticeship) program. He is currently teaching computer networks and cyber security at Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical High School in Jamaica, NY. His main recognition comes from the faces and stories of the students he serves. He loves seeing their expressions when they come to understand what was previously foreign. Hearing their stories of accomplishments or of fight without giving up is addictive. The recognition he receives from them is all he needs to continue to be fueled to do his job.
Meenakshi Baker is the Assistant Vice President of Operations Technology Services and Support at New York University, Information Technology. She has been working at NYU since 2002 and in her current position since 2013. She strives to develop students in a variety of fields such as Information Technology, Space Data Analysis, Construction Project Management, Facilities Management, and Customer Service.
James Walsh designs the user experience of enterprise systems developed by NYU IT Operations Technology Services & Support (OTSS). James has a bachelor’s degree in Urban Design and Architectural Studies from NYU. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Marketing, Product Management, and Media and Technology from the NYU Stern School of Business.
Kerri Campbell has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of the Incarnate Word (San Antonio, Texas) and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs from New York University. As the Manager of OTSS User Support, Kerri facilitates client relationships, develops OTSS system training programs for NYU employees, implements and reviews student development initiatives, and oversees project development for new User Support initiatives.
