PhD Candidate, Tandon School of Engineering, NYU. Global PhD Fellow, NYU Abu Dhabi (2013 - 14)

Project: Subsonic Jet Noise reduction using downstream Fluidic Injection, Advisor: Prof Sunil Kumar, NYU Abu Dhabi

  • Conducting parametric study of the jet noise spectrum and response to downstream fluidic injection for Mach 0.9 jet, using computational aeroacoustics.

Graduate Assistant, Aerodynamics Lab (2013 - 14)

Project: Blocker-less Thrust Reverser System (BETR), Advisor: Prof Iraj Kalkohran, NYU Tandon

  • Conduct parametric study of the BETR system to obtain the optimum design and operating points for the fluid injection using numerical simulations and previous experimental data. (Master's Thesis Project)

Graduate Assistant, Dynamical Systems Laboratory (2013)

Project: Fish behavior in response to a School of Robotic Fishes, Advisor: Prof Maurizio Porfiri, NYU Tandon

  • Fabricated the equipment including Robotic fishes, wireless controllers, and conducted experiments to study the behavior of live fish in response to a pair of robotic fishes moving along a pre-determined trajectory.


UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:

Design & Development of Crank-less Engine (B-4 Engine), IIT-(BHU) Varanasi. (2009-2010)

  • Developed an IC Engine incorporating a barrel cam mechanism for motion conversion.
  • Designed and simulated Various Subsystems like Valve train, Ignition system, Fuel injection system using CATIA.
  • Evaluated engine performance in Lotus Engine Simulation.
  • Fabricated engine model in Machine Shop using CNC lathe, 5 Axis Milling machine, Rapid Prototyping etc.

Optimization of Gasoline to CNG Engine Conversion Process, Mahindra Engineering Services. (2009)

  • Optimized the engine conversion using Parametric Optimization in Lotus Engine Simulation.
  • Suggested changes and presented the results to International Clients.

Design & Development of “Biped Robot”, IIT-(BHU) Varanasi. (2008-2009)

  • Developed a bipedal robot with 12 DOF replicating human limb and analyzed statically stable gaits.
  • Proposed a Bipedal Walking Aid, research grant sanctioned by Institution of Engineers (India).

Design, Analysis & Kinematic Simulation of Linear Co-axial Tuner for ILC Operation, Centre for Design & Manufacture (CDM), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. (2008)

  • Developed tuner mechanism for Lorentz force detuning of super conducting RF cavities using CATIA & Ansys.
  • Optimized design for reduced manufacturing cost, material cost, time and simplified manufacturing process by using standardized parts instead of Titanium components and eliminating the need of Electron Beam Welding.
