At the beginning of the semester, interested students apply to be considered for participation in the Discovery Experience. Students will be selected according to academic focus, interests and professional goals and required to sign a commitment agreement.
Admitted students are sorted into small groups according to their answers and then paired with a Professional Mentor working in an applicable field.
The Professional Mentor poses a problem or question, preferably one with which they, their company or their industry is grappling, and challenges the students to develop real world solutions to the problem posed.
Over the course of FIVE meetings with their professional mentors, and weekly group meetings with each other, students will formulate an answer to the question or problem.
At the end of the semester, the professional mentor invites a panel of fellow industry experts to hear the students' findings in a 20 minute final presentation.
Upon full-completion of the fellowship each participating student will receive a monetary honorarium.
