People Protected Bike Lanes (PPBL) is a bicycle demonstration tactic that originated in San Francisco in 2017, in which participants stand on the street in line, along a painted bike lane, to draw attention to its inadequacy. The following study tracks the global expansion of PPBL, which as of the close of 2023 has occurred in 25 cities in 11 different countries.
