Bus-Stop Census

During the summer of 2020, I visited San Francisco's roughly 3,000 bus stops in person, surveying them for the presence or absence of amenities such as seating, shelter, clear signage, and unobstructed curbs. This census resulted in the following peer-reviewed article in the Journal of Public Transportation, and following a unanimously-passed resolution from the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, to a major change in SFMTA's bus-stop policy.
