"The creature will have a minimalist, black-and-white aesthetic and resemble a winged skeleton. A key feature of the design is an X-ray-style, glowing heart that beats. Something similar to what Professor Moon showed in one of the earlier classes."
For the Project A, I wanted to integrate "organic" elements into my creature. I found the heartbeating sketch that Professor Moon made in class really captivating. Which is why I made I modified the code into something similar to breathing, with the random white circles appearing when the "lungs" are at full capacity.
The motion I wanted to incorporate for my creature is one that is smooth. Maybe using a mix of spinning balls and lines connecting them to create a sort of skeleton of the creature. One the right, you can see a reference I used for the inspiration of my creature. The colors are black and white and the lines really inspired me to do the same for my project.Β
For the interactions, I hope to include something that would affect the heart rate of the creature and also the movement of its limbs. I'm interested in the mouse interactions since its more "minimalistic" in a way, compared to a keyboard.

Overall, for this project, I want to create something fictional and at the same time organic. It's hard to describe since I prefer to add features and elements to the creature as I work. When I discussed my thoughts and ideas for this project with Professor Moon, I felt like I gave a very vague idea to him. The creature he showed us in the first class inspired me and I want to do something similar, a skeleton-ish like creature that incorporates very abstract and minimalistic look. A project that also inspired me was Yerke's. She took Creative Coding Lab last semester and I was mesmorized by her creature. It's called Everolving Star, a creature that follows your mouse movement and changes shape over time. I want to make something similar to all of these creatures mentioned, with some elements I learned from coding in Interaction Lab as well.
