Mandatory weekly lab meetings are held on Fridays from 10:30-11:30am. The topics covered range from overviews of our current studies to discussions about graduate school options. Prior to the meeting, you’ll receive an email on the meeting’s content.
After completing an interest form, each extern will be paired with a staff member for mid-semester check-in. These check-ins provide externs the opportunity to discuss their work, seek advice from research professionals, ask any questions they may have—academically and/or professionally, and get to know the staff a little better. More information regarding the mid-semester check-in will be sent out early in the semester.
Externs may volunteer to prepare and present a summary and discussion of a scientific article during our weekly lab meeting. Leading a Journal Club presentation gives you the opportunity to exercise your oral presentation skills, and it also gives us insight into said skills, with the added bonus of getting to know you a little better.
