FORC is a program that helps to build foundational literacy in the computational methods that underpin much of modern research. FORC brings together content and technical experts from the NYU Libraries, Arts & Science, and NYU IT to contribute and carry out the program’s immersive in-person learning experiences. Our curriculum is flexible and responsive to developing technologies and approaches, and we are committed to providing the best learning experiences possible for all participants regardless of their level of technical expertise.
Our target audience is graduate students, particularly those in fields where data science methods could augment their research and professional work, but where formal instruction in these methods may not be part of the curriculum. We are especially interested in reaching students in Master’s programs and students without any experience with coding or computational methods, but our offerings are open to NYU graduate students across all schools and programs.
If your program could benefit from the foundational data skills programming we support, let us know by sending an email to FORC@nyu.edu .
