We are aware that AI has been quite a dominant theme in many recent conferences. However, ALWC 2025 seeks a more holistic approach, addressing not only AI but also other emerging technologies. Our focus is on exploring the evolving relationship between language acquisition and these advancements. As technology reshapes the landscape of language teaching and learning, educators must be equipped with the knowledge and strategies to navigate these transformations effectively—both in the short- and long-term. ALWC 2025 welcomes diverse perspectives, research-based insights, and hands-on experiences from educators, researchers, and all those interested in the future of language learning.
Join us at ALWC 2025 to engage in meaningful discussions on the ever-evolving intersection of technology and language education. We would welcome topics including but not limited to:
The Future of Language Education: Emerging trends in technology-driven language teaching and learning.
Integrating AI in Language Education: Best practices for incorporating AI into language teaching and learning.
AI Literacy for Educators and Learners: Learning and teaching AI concepts for language educators and students.
AI Tools for Language Learning: A review/teaching tip of specific AI applications.
AI and Language Acquisition: How AI facilitates or hinders first and second language learning.
Limitations of AI: What AI cannot do for language learners and where human instruction remains essential.
Ethical and Pedagogical Considerations: How educators can critically engage with AI and emerging technologies.
Developing the prompts for language Instruction: Developing effective prompts for AI-assisted lesson planning.
Beyond AI: Exploring other recent tech trends that have become a part of the classroom.
We invite proposals on original research or pedagogical practices. While ALWC 2025 gives priorities to the proposals within the conference theme, we also welcome and encourage broad participation and a wide range of topics in TESOL/AL. You can submit multiple proposals.
