Halloween Celebration 2025

The English Department brought spooky fun and language learning together during this year’s Halloween celebration at Ng Yuk Secondary School. From 27 to 28 October 2025, a series of lunchtime activities filled the campus with excitement, laughter, and English learning in a festive atmosphere.

The celebration began with a cheerful School Gate Greeting on 27 October, where English teachers and English Ambassadors dressed in creative Halloween costumes welcomed students at the entrance. During lunchtime on both days, Playground A became the centre of the Halloween Party. English Ambassadors ran a variety of interactive English game booths, including Apple Bobbing, where students picked apples from water and read Halloween phrases aloud; the Ping-Pong Challenge, where players tossed balls into boxes labelled Places, Food, and Creatures; the Cup Stacking Challenge, which tested speed and vocabulary; and the Crossword Puzzle and Bracelet-Making booths, which encouraged spelling and creativity.

In addition to the playground games, two whole-school activities added to the fun. The Halloween Riddle Hunt challenged students to find clues hidden around the campus and guess Halloween-related words, while the  Candy Jar Challenge at the school gate drew the biggest attention. Students were invited to guess the number of treats inside the jar — and the lucky winner took home the entire jar of sweets!

Each activity blended English practice with fun, teamwork, and friendly competition. Students enjoyed using English in real-life situations and were rewarded with candies and laughter for their participation. The success of the event came from the collaboration of English teachers and English Ambassadors. The Halloween Celebration not only promoted English in a joyful way but also built a stronger sense of community across the school. The English Department looks forward to organising more meaningful and interactive activities in the future.
