The Story of Unite
It all began in April 2022 with the very first Three District Network Camp, where Selby, York Minster, and York Ebor Scout Networks came together at Snowball Plantation in York. The weekend was packed with adventure, including a (very long!) hike into York city centre, geocaching around the city, and a new experience for many – making pitta bread pizzas in a wood-fired outdoor oven.
The Three District Network Camp returned in April 2023, once again held at Snowball Plantation. Building on the success of the previous year, we added archery and shooting, a shorter hike, and orienteering to the mix. All meals were catered – including morning pancakes on the Sunday.
Then came a turning point. In April 2024, Network Unite officially launched, opening the event to Scout Network members aged 18 to 25 from across the UK. Alongside archery and sumo suit battles, members were encouraged to cater for themselves – fostering independence. This was also the first year we introduced official branding and merchandise, giving the event its own unique identity and bringing everything together under the new name.
Network Unite returned in April 2025. The weekend featured archery, shooting, and a new activity – frisbee golf. We proudly held our first official flag break ceremony on the Saturday morning, raising the brand-new Network Unite flag for the very first time.
We are very much looking forward to bringing Network Unite back in 2026, with lots of new and exciting changes to come.
