Adult Education is an educational program designed to serve adults and out of school youths, 18 years of age or older, who desire to earn a high school diploma or a Nevada State Certificate of High School Equivalency. There is no fee for full-time Adult Education enrollment. Adult Education also serves concurrent students primarily enrolled at comprehensive or non-traditional schools who desire to make up credits. Concurrent student paperwork must be completed at students' primary high schools prior to registration. Cost for concurrent students is $100 per, credit course.
High school credit can be earned for approved college/university courses not offered at the student's school of enrollment. A three credit college/university course equals one-half unit of high school credit. Administrative approval must be obtained prior to the first day of the course participation. Contact your counselor to discuss your academic plan and get the application.
Students have the opportunity to retake classes through credit recovery throughout the school day. Please see your grade-level counselor for details.
Students may earn an elective credit for jobs held outside of school (1 credit max). Students who work a minimum of 270 hours per semester credit may be eligible. Contact Mrs. Luck at cluck@nyeschools.org for more information.
