Since my undergraduate years, I’ve been honored to have collaborated with excellent researchers from NYCU, NTHU, NCKU, and UC Davis on research exploring family interactive practices, social justice design, and self-presentation on social media.

In-home Interview Reflective Thematic Analysis
We explore how Taiwanese families negotiate energy-saving goals while using energy-related technologies. Through interviews with parents and children, we highlight the inevitability of negotiation in energy-conserving practices in daily family life. We call for smart home designs beyond energy efficiency to align with cultural values, family needs and well-being.

GROUP 2025 Interview Diary Studies Qualitative Coding
We examine Taiwanese families' sleep practices within a culture with high academic pressure. Through interviews and diaries, we contribute to a broader family informatics approach that balances health needs with social expectations in diverse cultural settings, while advocating incorporating care and attuning into the design of sleep-tracking technology.

User-Centered Design Research-through-design
We explore parents' and children's perceptions of morning time using a mixed design approach with Research-through-Design and User-Centered Design. We built a cross-device mat prototype that records audio when families step on it in the morning, along with an app that stores the recordings and allows parents and children to edit and tell stories based on the them.

CollabTech 2023 Design Fiction Speculative Workshop
Emotions are ephemeral and contextual, yet traced by technology in our daily lives. Using design fiction as a probe, we conduct workshops where participants create prototypes of future affective technology employed in intimate contexts. We contribute to design methods that use dystopia design fiction to provoke next-round speculation and reconfigure emotional entanglements between humans and technologies.

Interview User-Centered Design
We aim to design user-centered systems that promote equitable hybrid work, ensuring remote workers are not disadvantaged or marginalized due to limited physical presence in hybrid collaboration. We plan to employ the in-depth interview approach to understand the challenges and daily experiences of hybrid workers in Taiwan.

Co-design Workshop ZINE Toolkit Design Card
We conduct co-design workshops with Southeast Asian immigrant mothers in Taiwan through a participatory approach. We developed a ZINE-making toolkit to support creative self-expression and storytelling. We aim to contribute to the conversation design of storytelling chatbots with component cards and promote reciprocity in cross-cultural family interactions.

Systematic Literature Review Participatory Design
Through a scoping review of 45 studies, we explore the frictions in co-design with marginalized groups. Featuring a case study with Southeast Asian immigrant mothers in Taiwan, we highlight the complexities of co-design in non-Western settings. Our analysis provides an intersectional framework for understanding design frictions and calls for structural shifts toward more equitable, contextually grounded co-design practices.

Interview Diary Studies
We explore the learning dynamics between Southeast Asian (SEA) immigrant mothers and their bicultural children in Taiwan. We indicate multi-dimensional and intersectional challenges of SEA immigrant mothers' engagement in home-based learning. Our work promotes inclusive design that supports SEA immigrant mothers at individual, familial, and societal levels.

DIS 2025 PwiP Cultural Probe Interactive Installation
We present an interactive installation that reveals the hidden efforts of the editing process on social media. Using narrative personas and experimental videos, we examine how audience attention shapes editing practices. After collecting viewers' reflections through public exhibitions, we provide design implications for selective memory, user-controlled visibility, and critical engagement with digital self-presentation on social media.
