Personal Care Assistant (PCA) CFSS Worker Certification Prep
This class prepares students for a job as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) worker. In this course, students will learn how to:
Help people with daily activities like eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and moving safely.
Follow a person's care plan and support their independence.
Use safe caregiving skills, including infection control, safe lifting, and emergency procedures.
Communicate respectfully with clients and keep professional boundaries.
Complete forms and write simple care notes.
Learn job vocabulary and workplace skills.
Understand the role, responsibilities, and rules of a PCA/CFSS worker

This course will preteach many of the topics covered in the CNA class and the NATO knowledge test (skills will not be covered).
Students will discover the various paths available to them in healthcare and how to move forward on those paths.

Prep for the Nursing Program Entrance Exam
This course is designed to help individuals who are going into the nursing field.
The class will offer help in:
science
math
language arts
reading, and
critical thinking skills
in preparation to take the TEAS or HSRT Exam.
English for Custodians and Maintenance Workers
English for Custodians and Maintenance Workers
This course is centered around common scenarios that involve custodians in various settings.
Throughout the course:
Students will increase related vocabulary in custodial & maintenance jobs through speaking, reading, listening, and writing exercises.
Students will build skills for conversations on the job.
Students will become familiar with common scenarios where custodians require English to interact with facility managers, maintenance workers, and other building occupants.
Students will complete self-study tasks in grammar skills building.
English for Hospitality Services
English for Hospitality Services
In this course, students will study vocabulary and expressions used in the hotel business: front office, food and beverage, restaurant, housekeeping, and communication with hotel guests and other English-speaking staff members by using real-life situations.
Throughout the course:
Students will practice key vocabulary and conversations for communicating in a hospitality environment.
Students will understand professionalism & work ethic, and practice problem-solving skills.
Students will research jobs in the hospitality sector and develop their own career goals.
Students will be familiar with safety, health, and team collaboration with co-workers and guests by using interpersonal skills, phrases and vocabulary in challenging scenario situations.
Students will complete self-study tasks in grammar skills building.

English Vocabulary for MN Driver's Manual
This is the level 1 course in preparing for the written MN Driver's test. It is designed to introduce students to the basic vocabulary and foundational concepts needed to begin their study towards the written portion of the Minnesota Drivers Exam.
Students will learn how to:
Recognize and understand basic driver education vocabulary used in the Minnesota Driver's Manual and written exam.
Identify common road signs, traffic signals, and pavement markings.
Explain fundamental traffic laws and safe driving practices.
Demonstrate understanding of key driver responsibilities and rules of the road.
Use driver education terminology to discuss driving situations and test questions.
Build confidence and readiness for continued study toward the written Minnesota Driver's Exam

This course focuses on the knowledge and requirements needed to pass the MN driver's license written exam including:
road knowledge
traffic laws
vehicle operation
signage.
Paraprofessional Training and Certification
Paraprofessional Training and Certification
This course is designed to qualify paras to meet Title I requirements. Students will enroll in ParaEducator Online and work synchronously with a professional instructor through the first thirteen lessons.
Proctored certification testing provided upon completion of the course.
