Question: Can I see my usage and my balance?
Answer: Yes! You can login in to Papercut (only at school) to see these items. There is a shortcut on the Intranet page or click here.
Question: What is the cost per copy/print?
Answer: 1 cent for a black/white copy and 4 cents for a color copy.
Question: When I print from my computer, should I choose 1 copy or the number I actually need?
Answer: We have found that it is best to try and choose 1 copy, release at machine, and then make the number of copies you need.
Question: Is there a carryover?
Answer: Yes, you can accumulate up to $20. Example 1: You spend $10 in October. In November, you will get your $13 plus the $3 you did not spend for a total of $16 for November. Example 2: You spend $4 in October. In November, you will get your $13 plus $7 will carry over for a total of $20 for November.
Question: If I forget to choose black and white, what do I do?
Answer: Your account is charged by what you release from the copier. You can choose "Print as grayscale" before your release the job. Then the print cost will be 1 cent/copy.
Question: Can I make my default printing be black and white?
Answer: Yes and no. You should always manually choose black and white (grayscale) each time you print!
But, you can make defaults for each program you use (Word, Google Docs, etc.). You can create the preset setting in each program. Then, the next time you use it, your preset will be available to use.
Question: Does a double-sided copy count as 1 or 2?
Answer: 2
Question: Will this system be flawless and never make changes?
Answer: Probably not! This is a new procedure and will likely encounter some small issues along the way.
Question: Do I get charged for scanning, even if it is in color?
Answer: No! Scanning is free!
Question: What does the sign on the copier mean if it say to choose greyscale before you print?
Answer: Here is the explanation. If you print something from your computer in color. You go to the copier to print it, but you go to a copier that only prints in black and white. If you release the job, you will be charged in the system for a color copy anyway (even though it only prints in black and white). That is why you can choose print in greyscale right on the copier screen to make sure you get charged correctly.
