Welcome to our ELT Prototype Site! This site is a work in progress and will shift to meet the needs of our ELTs.
In order to create readiness for equity action/design work, ELT's have engaged in foundational equity learning together. This provides some common concepts, practices and language that allows teams to engage more deeply and with critical self and system awareness. While not exhaustive, this has created a base for further work.
As new members come onto ELT's, who haven't had a chance to engage this learning with their teammates, it's important they can access this learning. This page provides a way for new new folks to do that - and for experienced team members to revisit foundational learning since it will have new meaning informed by their equity design work.
In addition, the "modules" below can be used by equity leaders within departments to engage colleagues in equity learning within their department or program.
Prototype Note
The modules below are not fully developed yet. The first two provide an image of what all of them could eventually look like.
Laying Foundations for Equity Learning
Constructivist Listening provides a simple structure (e.g. a dyad) that supports authentic sharing and deep compassionate listening. It's helpful as people make meaning for themselves complex (equity) issues that often have emotional charge.
The Paseo protocol invites people to surface and share aspects of their identity that are important to them - and to hear others do the same. It's a helpful 'on-ramp' activity for equity learning because it communicates that we all come to this work with our identities - and that these matter to how we experience the world.
