The Science Team competes in Science Olympiad Competitions in Pennsylvania and nearby states. The team starts in the Fall by preparing for the 23 events as soon as the rules become available. Each team is made up of 15 students with a limit of 7 seniors on a team. They often register more than one team to allow more students to participate. Competitions begin in December and continue until May. They usually go to several invitational competitions, which are very competitive and excellent preparation for the regional competition in March. Only one team may go to the regional competition. If this team qualifies, they move on to compete at the state competition at Penn State Altoona in April.
