As in accordance with Northwestern High School policy, your course grade will be based on the following:
20% - Homework
Working through problems on your own is an essential part of the learning process. Completing all assignments before the beginning of class is key to increase your understanding and being prepared for the day's activities.
Homework will either be checked for completion or collected and graded for correctness. Late homework will not be accepted.
20% - Classwork
Throughout the semester you will have a lot of time to work individually or in small groups on projects, laboratories, and board problems. Your Classwork grade is based on your participation, completion, and the correctness of these assignments.
All assignments are due at the start of the block unless otherwise noted. Late projects and reports will receive a 50% penalty.
60% - Assessments
Your mastery of the content of this course will be measured using a variety of assessments. You should expect:
Unit Quizzes (50 pts)
Quick Checks (25 pts/unit)
Laboratory Responses (25 pts)
Projects (25 pts)
Students will do their own work and give credit where credit is due.
Careful Collaboration and Plagiarism will be discussed in class.
Students who do not adhere to the honesty policy will receive a zero and a call home; as is outlined in the Student Handbook.
