How to understand yourself

                                         Norrah Shobe

Finding, understanding, and expressing yourself can be difficult, no matter what type of person you are. Whether you have been through a lot or nothing at all, we all have a problem expressing ourselves and finding our hobbies.

After hard times, finding yourself can be difficult, but you have to explore your passions and try new things. For example, some new clubs started up like Crossroad Chronicles. You could also pick up your hobbies like drawing, writing, singing, etc. Maybe even some sports, like baseball, track or basketball.

Understanding your problems and accepting them is also a process. There is after-school homework/math help if you need a little push! Make sure to evaluate your skills and challenge yourself with school work.

Sometimes Identifying what you value about yourself is challenging. What do you like about yourself? For example, some people love their personality while others like their own physical appearance, you aren't forced to pick either but give yourself confidence and don't let it bother you!

You could maybe start keeping a journal to understand your feelings and learn to pay attention to yourself! You deserve it! You could also attempt something new, like exploring constellations or looking into different music genres or even art history.

Make yourself the center of attention, make a bucket list, embrace yourself and make new friends, take a walk on a beach, and explore in the woods. There is no limit to your imagination. Do what you like!

PSAT

Kara Lynch

On April 10th, all Eighth Grade students at Northview took the PSAT.

There are many benefits, and reasons why it is important. This article explains some of that.

For starters, the 8th grade PSAT is used as a benchmark for your high school years. It is used as a starting point for your academic level, and you use it to show your growth.

It is important to note that the PSAT is just practice for your SAT in 11th grade.

Not stressing is crucial for the test. The pressure doesn’t start until you are a junior, so just know that the PSAT is not the end of your chances in high school and college.

A benefit of taking the test is that you will have more preparation for high school.

Your effort and knowledge will determine what material your teachers in high school will teach more or less of.

The PSAT is only a preparation for what's to come, so don’t worry about what you might’ve gotten on the test. And for Seventh graders that take the test next year as Eighth graders, be prepared, and don’t stress about it!
