The Kissing Hand

The Kissing Hand is an American children’s picture book that is written by Audrey Penn and illustrated by Ruth E. Harper and Nancy M. Leak. In this book, a mother raccoon gives her child, named Chester, comfort by kissing his hand. It is used to help children that are nervous about something. Audrey Penn was born on May 4, 1947, and grew up being a ballerina for the New York City Dancers. She now lives in Maryland with her husband and two children.
