The integration of assembly and AI is becoming increasingly important in various industries, from manufacturing to healthcare. This workshop will bring together experts from both fields to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the application of AI in assembly tasks.
The focus will be on the application of AI in industrial assembly tasks, with a specific emphasis on the following topics:
AI in Industrial Assembly: Examining the impact of AI on efficiency, accuracy, and safety in industrial assembly lines.
Sim2Real Techniques: Discuss the use of simulation in assembly and its potential for bridging the gap between simulation and real-world environments.
Manipulation of Deformable Objects: Exploring challenges and potential solutions for assembling flexible and deformable objects using AI, such as cables, rubber seals, etc.
Sensor Fusion: Examining the integration of vision, force/torque, and tactile sensors in assembly tasks and in terms of precision and reliability.
Assembly Sequence Planning: Discuss the use of AI for planning and optimizing assembly sequences.
Learning from CAD: Examining the use of AI for learning from CAD models.
We strongly encourage equal participation and attendance from both academia and industry. We also aim to shine a spotlight on early-career researchers and underrepresented voices by having several PhD students and post-docs serve as presenters or co-presenters during our speaker presentations, as well as presenters during our poster sessions.
