Pastor Duckett has been married to his wife Cordelia A. Duckett for 54 years. She is his right arm in ministry. They have four children and two grandchildren, all active in the ministry.

Pastor Duckett has been a compassionate and dedicated pastor with over 50 years’ experience at all levels of church administration.

While in his 60s Pastor Duckett felt the move of the LORD to found a church. He resisted for a few years believing a man his age was too old to begin a ministry. However, in 2010 he was compelled by the Spirit to start New Vision Christian Church which held its initial service in his home on January 3, 2010. 

In June 2010 the church moved from the Pastor’s residence and began worshiping at the Westampton Township Recreation Center. 

In August, 2014 NVCC made settlement on their building located at 1303 Route 130 N. 08016. After extensive renovations, the first service at the new site was conducted on October 5, 2014. The building was formally dedicated on November 30, 2014. Pastor Douglas M. Carpenter, Sr., Philadelphia Praise Prayer and Worship Center Church, presided. Under Pastor Duckett’s leadership, the mortgage was paid off in November 2021, eight years early!  

Education/Experience

In 1974 Pastor Duckett graduated from Maxwell Institute with a diploma in Computer Programming. A 38-year Information Technology professional he held positions as a Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, Sr. Project Manager. Before retiring in 2011, he was, for seven years, Director of Information Technology for the fifth-largest transit system in the country.

Pastor Duckett was ordained a minister at Zion Baptist Church, Ambler Pa in January 1975 under the leadership of Dr. Thomas E. Parker, Jr. He served as associate minister for three years. Also, at Zion he served as Superintendent of Sunday School, Trustee and youth leader.  

Beginning in 1980 he served as Pastor First Baptist Church of Yardley for fifteen years. Under his leadership the church grew from a few elderly members into a vibrant ministry with over 75 members.

In 1996 he, along with his good friend, Pastor Robert N. Jones, co-founded and co-pastored Foot of the Cross Christian Church where he served 10 years.

• Awarded a Certificate of Leadership from Philadelphia Urban League Leadership Institute, Philadelphia, PA.

• Former instructor of Old Testament and Minor Prophets at Manna Bible Institute, Philadelphia, PA

• Numerous awards for his service to the community.

• Served on Board of Directors for numerous nonprofit organizations in the Philadelphia region.

• Former Red Cross Chaplin, Philadelphia region.
