The library is open at 7:40am and is available for student drop in for all grades.
Students do not have to be accompanied by a teacher.
Students may use the technology available or check out books.
Students must follow the behavioral guidelines of the library at all times.

Teachers may send students up to three (3) to the library during class time through 5STAR. Students must check in a student aide when they arrive and the student aide will verify they are assigned to the library in 5STAR.
Users must follow all posted guidelines.
Teachers may sign up to bring their class either in person with Mrs. Crecco or they may fill out a request online.
Teachers and staff may check out an unlimited number of books at any time.
Teachers and staff may keep books as long as needed, but it is encouraged that teachers and staff return books when the books are not needed anymore.
Teachers and staff are exempt from overdue books.
All library books must be returned to the library by the end of the year.
Fines will not be assessed for overdue books.
Teachers and staff are exempt from renewals.
If a book is lost or damaged, the book must be paid for.
Payment for a lost book is reimbursed should the book be found and returned in good condition.
Damaged books should be brought to the library multimedia specialist for assessment and repair.
These items should not be repaired at home.
Students are allowed to check out a maximum of five physical books per library visit and unlimited digital. The loan period is four weeks.
All students are eligible to borrow materials unless their parents or guardian has requested borrowing privileges be withheld.
Overdue reports will be sent weekly to the students and their messenger contacts via Infinite Campus.
Students will be allowed to check out paperback books until the overdue material is returned.
Students may renew their books for an additional four week loan period, unless the book(s) has a hold on it.
Students must bring the book(s) to the librarian to renew it.

Students’ parents are responsible for paying the average replacement cost of each book lost or significantly damaged.

The library is a shared space. We ask that all of our staff and students use good judgment in terms of noise, appropriate language, and physicality in order to maintain a space which is safe and welcoming for all.
Our resources are to be shared by all in the Saville Middle School community. Students are not permitted to use cell phones in the library during the school day. We also ask that faculty/staff refrain from making or taking phone calls in the library during the school day.
