Attendance
Attendance is extremely important! Doctor appointments and illnesses are excused with a written note from parent/guardian.
Typical Peers: We will ask you to withdraw your student if they are consistently absent. We hold our typical peers to a high standard and believe attending this program is a privilege. If you have questions or concerns, please discuss this with your child's teacher.
Special Education Students: If there are chronic absences due to health issues please discuss them with the teacher.
Behaviors
Typical Peers: It is common for any child to have a bad day - it is expected. However, if your child demonstrates consistent physical aggression, destroys property or does not separate easily from you within a reasonable time, we will meet with you to discuss options. If these behaviors do not improve we will dismiss your child or team up with you to refer them to the special education team for evaluation.
Special Education Students: Behaviors may be a reason that your student is in our program. We will work closely with you and members of the special education community to support their behavior.
Support
If you are in need of support, such as positive parenting strategies, community resources, community programs to support your child's development, etc. please reach out to your teacher. We are here to help you and your family!
