Sheila Tarr Academy of International Studies currently houses two early childhood prek programs.
Early Childhood Special Education
This classroom is a self-contained program that offers support to students with Individualized Education Plans. The classroom size is smaller than a general education preschool program. There is one teacher and aide to help the little learners grow!
Early Childhood Inclusion Program
The Early Childhood Inclusion Preschool Program is for preschool-aged children in the Las Vegas community. Peers serve as models for the students participating in the Special Education Program.
The Early Childhood Inclusion program is for children ages 3, 4 and 5 years old (not eligible for kindergarten). The classroom is made up of 50% special education students and 50% kids from the community. There is a teacher and an aide to encourage a love for learning!
Curriculum
Both programs curriculums are based on the foundational principles of International Baccalaureate Schools, the Nevada Pre-K Content Standards and Creative Curriculum. Each student's development is monitored throughout the school year to ensure they are developing appropriately.
