An academic scholarship for undergraduate students, in recognition of their academic achievements. To be considered, students must be both admitted to UNLV and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Alternate Need Form by the priority deadline. There is no additional application process. If a student’s residency status changes, the amount of UNLV Signature may also change.

UNLV OPPORTUNITY

UNLV TUITION+

A need-based program for undergraduate students. It provides Nevada residents equivalent to 12-15 credit hours of course fees each semester in conjunction with UNLV scholarships and state and federal aid, plus another $1,000 for books for the school year.

• Audience: In-state, undergraduate students

• Renewable: Up to 135 attempted credits, including transfer credit, with a cumulative GPA of 2.00

• Stackable: Tuition+ is provided in two parts. One part covers any course fees remaining for most students after federal grants, waivers, third-party payments, state grants, and UNLV scholarships, and UNLV grants have been paid to the student account, up to the standard cost of 15 credits. The second part provides a stipend directly to students in the amount of $500 in both fall and spring.

VALEDICTORIAN SCHOLARSHIP

A scholarship for eligible incoming first-year students who are ranked number one on their high school transcript at the time of admission.

PRESIDENT’S SCHOLARSHIP

A scholarship for eligible incoming first-year students selected as National Merit Semifinalists who have designated UNLV as their number one school choice.

WESTERN UNDERGRADUATE EXCHANGE (WUE)

WUE represents the value of significant tuition savings versus full out-of-state charges. WUE students are charged at 150% of the in-state rate.

• Amount: 150% of the in-state tuition rate

• All students must start in the fall semester and enroll in at least 12 credit hours (full-time) each semester

• First-year students must live in a UNLV residence hall during their first year

• Transfer students must not exceed 90 transfer credits

• Must reside in one of the following locations: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, Marshall Islands, and Palau.

GOVERNOR GUINN MILLENNIUM SCHOLARSHIP (GGMS)

(Administered by the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office NVIGATE) – A merit-based scholarship available to Nevada high school graduates that pays up to a lifetime total of $10,000. It is allocated per credit hour for up to 15 credit hours each semester. Students receiving the Millennium Scholarship at UNLV will receive $80 per enrolled credit hour.

• Other Requirements: Enroll and complete a minimum of 12 credits each semester; and earn a 2.75 GPA each semester.
