Instrument care 101:
Note: If you are using a school instrument and are uncomfortable performing any of these tasks, do not hesitate to ask Ms. Munoz for assistance. To do so, fill out an instrument maintenance request form:

Staff Wars on a computer is a FREE download to help with note naming. It's a very fun game for Treble, Alto, and Bass Clef note reading. There is a paid version that you can get in the Apple and Google Play stores for your devices. http://www.themusicinteractive.com/downloads.html
http://rhythmrandomizer.com/ > customize options for preferred difficulty, then click on the rhythm to generate. Utilize this platform by counting, clapping, doing pizzicato while counting, and bowing each rhythm.
Having trouble with a particular rhythm in your sheet music? Go to this website and enter the rhythm into this program. It will either voice the count, or play the rhythm on drums. http://philtulga.com/counter.html
https://www.sightreadingfactory.com/ > try it for free > strings > your instrument > custom > optimize settings to your needs > next > specify range and leaps (I do as high as it lets me for a challenge) > specify time signature > specify key(D Major for beginners) > select either free play or challenge. Notes: you can change the tempo to fit your needs, as well as add a metronome. There is a playback option. I recommend this be used in multiple ways. Not only to sight read on an instrument, but to sight say/sing the note names. Students can say the notes in rhythm, utilizing counts. For example, when it is an A half note at the start of the measure, students can say A-2 B C. I highly recommend this method of practice. There is a direct link between master players and music literacy.
