NEVADA READING WEEK 2024

NEVADA READING WEEK:

March 4-8, 2024

“Embrace the magic of reading”

Bookmark Contest: The library will have the Bookmark Template available for decoration. Students must decorate the bookmark incorporating the theme “One World Many Stories” into the design and submit it to their ELA teacher or the library by Friday, March 8th  at 2:00 p.m.  Teachers will send all bookmarks to the library. Grand prize winners will be selected by Mrs. Medina and a judging committee. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and honorable mention. Please create your bookmark in black ink or pencil. *7th Grade can use the reading week theme “One World Many Stories” or “Outsiders”.

Mystery Reader: During morning announcements Tuesday and Thursday, a mystery staff member will read a short passage on the announcements. Each CLASS will vote on who they think the mystery reader is. Teachers will fill out a Mystery Reader Form electronically each day before 9:00 am (ONE guess per class). All classes with the correct answers will go into a drawing to win a prize.  Winners will be announced on the morning announcements.

Book Quotes:  Students will listen to Nevada Reading Week book quotes on the daily announcements on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If ANYONE (not a class) knows the title of the book that the quote comes from, they must submit their response on the Book Quote Contest Google Form.  Mrs. Medina will draw correct answers from each grade level each day. The winner will receive a prize. Winners will be announced on the morning announcements.
