There are three subcommittees that support the ongoing work of the Lied STEM Academy NJHS.
Community Projects
The Community Subcommittee is focused on developing and organizing service projects that directly affect the local community around Lied STEM Academy. Projects have included:
Book Buddies, where NJHS students visit a school, read ta book to kindergarteners, do a craft with them, and gift each kindergartener with a copy of the book;
Food Drive, each advisory collects non-perishable food items to donate to the local food bank.
LSA Projects
The LSA Projects Subcommittee is focused on developing and organizing service projects that directly affect Lied STEM Academy. Projects have included:
Conducting teacher appreciation during Teacher Appreciation Week;
Anchors Aweigh, an incoming 6th grade orientation before school begins;
Developing a Classroom Recycling program that utilizes members collecting on a weekly basis.
Fundraising
The Fundraising Subcommittee is focused on developing and organizing the events that raise funds for the chapter to be able to pay for service projects and the end of year and induction ceremony.
