About the Director
Mr. Russell is a graduate of Oklahoma City University where he received his Bachelor of Music Degree. He has also done Graduate Studies in Theatrical Directing at the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music. Mr. Russell taught Vocal Music in Oklahoma for 10 years before joining CCSD in 2004. During his time here in Las Vegas, Mr. Russell has had the pleasure of teaching at Bonanza HS, Swainston MS, and Faiss MS. Mr. Russell is a 2018 Recipient of the Heart of Education Award given by the Smith Center. In addition to teaching Vocal Music, he has directed several musicals and plays including Into The Woods, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Our Town. Mr. Russell hopes all choir members will find singing in choir to be an enjoyable experience and will develop a love of choral music that will last a lifetime.
