Hi! My name is Rachel Heaton! This is my 3rd year teaching at Hollingsworth STEAM Academy. I love teaching 5th grade! Before coming to Hollingsworth, I ran an after school elementary tutoring program, and was a substitute teacher for many different grade levels. Growing up, both my parents were teachers. I've always known that I wanted to be a teacher as well. I have degrees in Elementary Education and English Mass Communications. I'm passionate about working with students and helping them succeed in all their endeavors and grow into well-rounded individuals.

I was born and raised in Colorado, but three years ago, I decided to move to Las Vegas! I love the mild winters, but I'm still adjusting to the summer heat! Just prior to my move to Las Vegas, my family relocated to Helena, Montana. I'm lucky to get to visit them a few times each year and go hiking, kayaking, and fishing with them in Big Sky Country. In my free time, I love reading, painting, cooking, playing games, spending time with family and friends, and watching movies and TV shows.
