OVERVIEW

The Extended School Year (ESY) Department provides educational and related services beyond the typical school year. Individual Educational Program (IEP) teams determine if students qualify for ESY services based on a critical learning need or by showing regression following a school break.

• Required service under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

• The goal is skill maintenance.

• Transportation and food service are provided.

• Credit retrieval is available to secondary students.

• Held at approximately 70 sites district-wide.
