Mr. Michael Friedman is the director of the Desert Oasis High School Orchestra program. 

Before moving to Las Vegas, Mr. Friedman was a band and orchestra director in Broward County, Florida where his ensembles consistently received superior ratings.

This will be Mr. Friedman's 6th year teaching at Desert Oasis, 7th year in CCSD, and 40th year of teaching music. 

Mr. Friedman strives for the best, and is always pushing his students to grow their skills, play challenging music, and work towards excellence.

I‘m honored to serve as the instructional assistant for the Desert Oasis High School Orchestra. 

I bring to this role a diverse background from working in four international K–12 schools in China: I served as admissions counselor, founding-team member, marketing specialist at Guangzhou ISA Liwan International School, Guangzhou Foreign Languages School AP & A-Level program, Guangzhou Huafu Haizhu Bilingual School, and Guangdong Experimental High School Yuexiu International program. 

This year marks my fifth year working in education overall, and my second year at Desert Oasis as well as with CCSD. I truly enjoy my work here with the Orchestra program. I am committed to supporting the director and helping plan and organize orchestra’s events. 

I look forward to working with all our students and families to build a positive, encouraging, and musically enriching experience for everyone.
