Tutorials

At Gibson Leadership Academy, tutorials take place every Tuesday and Thursday across all 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade AVID classes.  Students participate in collaborative tutorial groups, where they use their Tutorial Request Form (TRF) to identify specific points of confusion from their core classes—math, English language arts, science, and social studies. With guidance from a tutor, peers help one another work through these challenges by asking questions, sharing strategies, and leading each other toward deeper understanding. This process not only strengthens academic skills but also builds confidence, communication, and leadership.
