This introductory year-long course is designed to introduce students to the Engineering curriculum. The focus of this course is the design process and its application. Areas of emphasis include engineering standards, 3D modeling software, safety, and documentation techniques. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one of the Arts/Humanities/CTE credits required for high school graduation.

Engineering Foundations I
Course Fee - $25
This completer year-long course is designed for students who have successfully completed Engineering Foundations I. Areas of emphasis include theories of mechanisms, energy, statics, materials, and kinematics. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one of the Arts/Humanities/CTE credits required for high school graduation. This course may count towards the College and Career Ready Flex Credit requirements for the Standard Diploma.

Engineering Foundations II
Course Fee - $25
This one-year complementary course is designed for students who have successfully completed Engineering Foundations II. This course explores civil engineering and architecture design and develop residential and commercial properties and structures. Students use 3D design software to design and document solutions for projects. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one of the elective credits required for high school graduation.

Architectural and Civil Enginerring
Course Fee - $25
This one-year course is designed as a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) capstone course in which students work in teams to research, design, and construct a solution to an open-ended engineering problem. Students must present progress reports, submit a final written report, and defend their solutions to a panel of outside reviewers at the end of the school year. Instructional practices will incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to our society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one elective credit required for high school graduation.
