Our services are available to pregnant individuals who are enrolled in Medicaid. A valid pregnancy statement is required during enrollment to confirm eligibility.
How do I sign up for services?
You can sign up for services by contacting us directly or through your Medicaid provider. Your Care Coordinator will guide you through the enrollment process and ensure that you get the care and support you need.
Do I need to have Medicaid to participate in this program?
Yes, this program is specifically designed for individuals enrolled in Medicaid. If you are not yet enrolled, we can assist you in applying for Medicaid so you can access the services.
Does my immigration status affect my eligibility?
No, your immigration status does not affect your eligibility as long as you are receiving Medicaid. At Nurturing Womb, we respect your privacy and will never disclose your immigration status.
Can I terminate my services at any time?
Yes, you are free to terminate your services at any time. This is a voluntary program, and we are here to support you when you need it.
Are the services available in person or online?
We offer a combination of in-person and virtual appointments to fit your needs. Your Care Coordinator will discuss the available options with you and help schedule appointments based on your preferences and convenience.
What if I need help outside of regular business hours?
If you need assistance outside of our regular business hours, please contact your healthcare provider or visit the nearest emergency facility for urgent care. Non-emergency concerns can be addressed during regular office hours.
How will my privacy be protected?
We take your privacy very seriously. All your personal and medical information is kept confidential and is never shared without your consent, except when required by law. We adhere to all privacy regulations to ensure your data is secure. Additionally, we fully comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to safeguard your health information and maintain the highest standards of privacy and security. Your trust and confidentiality are our top priority.
How will I get to the doctor?
If you need assistance with transportation to your doctor’s appointments, we can help you arrange a ride. Your Care Coordinator will assist you in scheduling transportation.
Will I receive free baby items every month?
While we do not provide free baby items monthly, we can refer you to other programs and resources that offer assistance with obtaining baby items.
What if I don't have a stable home or housing situation?
If you are facing housing instability, please let us know. We can refer you to community resources and programs that provide assistance with housing, food, and other support services during pregnancy and after your baby is born.
What should I expect during an appointment?
During your appointment, you'll meet with your Care Coordinator, who will discuss your health, provide guidance on prenatal care, and answer any questions or concerns you may have about your pregnancy and postpartum care.
What questions can I ask my Care Coordinator?
Feel free to ask any questions regarding your pregnancy, health, upcoming appointments, prenatal care, and postpartum recovery. Your Care Coordinator is there to provide support and ensure you have all the information you need for a healthy pregnancy.
Can my partner or family members be involved in my appointments?
Yes, you are welcome to have your partner, family members, or support person join your appointments, whether in-person or virtually. Your Care Coordinator can provide support to your loved ones as well.
How long do services last?
Services can begin at any point during your pregnancy and continue up to 60 days postpartum.
What health visits are needed and covered? How often should I go to the doctor?
You'll need regular prenatal visits, which are generally scheduled every 4 weeks during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy, every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, and then weekly until delivery. Postpartum visits typically occur 1-2 weeks after birth. Medicaid covers these visits, and your Care Coordinator can help guide you on the exact schedule based on your individual health needs.
What will my baby need after they are born?
After birth, your baby will need essential items such as diapers, clothes, feeding supplies (breast pump, bottles, etc.), and healthcare visits. We can guide you on where to obtain these items and how to care for your newborn.
Are there any additional services available after my baby is born?
Yes, we offer postpartum support, including assistance with breastfeeding, infant care, mental health resources, and follow-up health visits. Your Care Coordinator will help you transition into the postpartum period and ensure you have the support you need.
What if I have a high-risk pregnancy?
If you have a high-risk pregnancy, we will work closely with your healthcare provider to ensure you receive the specialized care you need. Your Care Coordinator will provide additional support and help you navigate any extra steps in your care plan.
What are signs of labor?
Signs of labor include regular contractions, water breaking, lower back pain, and changes in vaginal discharge. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your healthcare provider immediately for guidance.
Can I receive support if I'm having a miscarriage or pregnancy loss?
Yes, we offer emotional and informational support during difficult times, including miscarriage or pregnancy loss. Your Care Coordinator can connect you with counseling services and other resources to help you through this challenging experience.
Can I work with two agencies at the same time?
No, Wisconsin Medicaid regulations do not allow you to work with multiple agencies at once.
If I am working with another agency and want to switch, can I?
Yes, this is a voluntary program, and you are welcome to switch providers at any time. We want to ensure you feel supported in your care.
How do I know if I am working with another agency?
You can contact your insurance provider to check if prenatal care services are being billed. Additionally, you can reach out directly to your OB’s office to confirm whether they have enrolled you in their program.
