Autumn   School

Within the framework of the implementation of the Erasmus+ program Jean Monnet Module "Regulation of the use of food  additives in different food technologies and harmonization of European regulations in Ukraine on the path of European integration" (№#620521-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE) and the educational process under the educational programs "Technology of bread, confectionery, pasta and food concentrates" and "Technology of organic food products" the International autumn school and conference on the use of food additives was held for the first time in our university on November 29-30.

Rector Olexander Shevchenko warmly welcomed the school and conference participants. He noted the importance of our university's participation in joint international projects and, in particular, of such a scale, and wished the participants of the events creative inspiration and fruitful cooperation. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the rector presented a badge "For assistance in the development of the National University of Food Technologies" to Svitlana Lernyk, general director of Leipurin Ukraine LLC.

During the welcome speech, a member of the project team, Adviser to the member of the Lithuanian Seimas on education and social issues Ilona Miceikene (Lithuania) also spoke. The director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Food Technologies of the National Technical University of Ukraine, Oksana Kochubey-Lytvinenko, the expert of the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine Petro Kraynyk, the project coordinator, the head of the Department of Bakery and Confectionery Technology of our university, Volodymyr  Kovbasa, joined the congratulations.

During the work of the International Autumn School, the participants discussed the topic "Regulation of the use of food additives: implementation of European approaches" and listened to 14 reports by experts from the Scientific Research Institute of Standardization of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian research and training center for standardization, certification and quality issues ", the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the State Enterprise "Scientific Center for Preventive Food and Chemical Safety" named after academician L.I. Medvid", institute of higher education, international companies. More than 200 participants from 22 institutions of higher education of Ukraine, researchers of 3 research institutes, specialists of many industrial enterprises and companies took part in the work of the school.

As part of the work of the conference "Problems and practical approaches to the production and regulation of the use of food additives in the countries of the European Union and in Ukraine", many reports were heard, the topics of which concerned the peculiarities of the production and use of food additives in various technologies.  Due to the fact that food additives are used in almost all branches of the food industry, the topic attracted considerable attention and interest of many specialists who actively participated in the discussions.

The organizing committee expresses its gratitude to the Erasmus+ program and the representatives of the Erasmus+ office in Ukraine for their support in the implementation of the project. Special thanks to the speakers who took part in the preparation and conduct of the Autumn School. All event participants will receive certificates, and the conference materials will soon be published in a collection of the conference.
