Fare Charges

Brisbane Metro School Runs  listed on the College Website Bus-Runs page are zone charged by direct distance (radius) from the college as follows:

• Zone 1 - up to 5km = $3.50 per trip

• Zone 2 - 5km -10km = $4.00 per trip

• Zone 3 - greater than 10km = $4.50 per trip

Students can use the bus service as little or as often as they wish and there is no need to book on the daily bus runs with the exception of the Weekly Boarders Sunshine Coast services (Friday/Sunday) which require a booking through the BusMinder Parent App. 

Morning (AM) School Runs (fare charging) - each time a student "Taps On", the system will deduct the trip fare from their BusMinder account and the parent/s will receive a "boarding" notification which includes the student's current account balance.

Afternoon (PM) School Runs (fare charging) - each time a student "Taps Off", the system will deduct the trip fare from their BusMinder account and the parent/s will receive a "disembark" notification which includes the student's current account balance. 

Note: On the outbound journey (home), if the student fails to "Tap Off" when departing the bus, the parent notification will not be activated nor the fare charge applied. However, at the last stop the driver will use the "Unboard" feature and any students that have not tapped off will be charged the fare for the Zone where the bus is currently located which may be a higher zone fare (no refunds or adjustments will be made if this occurs). The parent notification will also be sent, however this will not necessarily be where the student disembarked the bus, hence the importance of students tapping off when they disembark.
