STUDY success
Six key things you can do, to make study successful
DAILY ROUTINE
Establish a daily routine
Get up with plenty of time to eat and be ready for learning
Have a learning space that works in your house: this might be your room, your kitchen table, or a study
Have your computer and charger, headphones, books, and relevant resources (eg. Google subjects folder, GoogleClassroom) ready to go
Don't forget about drinking enough water and eating well.
COMMUNICATION
Communicate proactively with your teachers and staff members from the boarding community
Check your emails and calendar in the morning before PC
Check your emails and calendar again in the afternoon
Communicate with your teachers after you receive your results, so that you can identify an area of improvement
CHECKING-IN
Check-in on your progress with teachers, and other staff that can support you
Communicate proactively with your teachers, to check that you understand the concepts and information being taught to you
Communicate proactively with your boarding staff; let them know how you're going, and ask them how they're doing!
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Engage in physical activity every day
Before school, recess, lunch, and after school are great times to get active
Go for a run, look up a yoga class or bodyweight workout video on YouTube, and work up a sweat!
KEEP THINGS FRESH
Get busy around home and the dorm as well, don't just sit at your desk all day
Mow the lawns, fix the fence, wash the dishes, get in the garden, learn how to change a tyre, do a puzzle, learn how to cook a new meal, or play a board game
READING
Take time to read, and talk to the people around you about the things you find interesting or challenging
Find time each day to get away from your screens, and read a book or magazine
Sit quietly, and read something new
Talk to your siblings, parents, mates, or boarding staff about what you've read
