AI Makers Overview

AI Makers NU–MTCIT is a joint initiative of the National University (NU) and the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), coordinated through the Artificial Intelligence Research Centre (AIRC).

The initiative recognizes and incentivizes excellence in Artificial Intelligence research, innovation, and adoption within NU, in alignment with Oman’s national digital transformation and innovation priorities.

AI Makers supports NU staff and students through recognition and cash awards for high-impact AI research, industry collaboration, student innovation, and effective use of AI in teaching and learning. The program follows a transparent, merit-based evaluation process, with outcomes reported to MTCIT as per the approved framework.
