The online symposium between Northern Technical University (NTU), Iraq, and University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia, conducted on the 5th of February 2025 is aimed to foster academic collaboration, research partnerships, and knowledge exchange between the two institutions. The discussions focused on several key areas, including joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programs, curriculum development, and technological advancements in higher education. Both universities explored opportunities for mutual cooperation in engineering, Cybersecurity, AI, Networking, information technology, medical sciences, and business management, highlighting their commitment to innovation and academic excellence. Special emphasis was placed on joint publications, funding opportunities, and industrial linkages to enhance research impact and global rankings.
The symposium also served as a platform to discuss cultural exchange and internationalization of education, encouraging deeper engagement between researchers, educators, and students from both institutions. Future action plans were outlined, emphasizing the establishment of memorandum of understanding (MoU), collaborative projects, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen academic ties and contribute to sustainable development goals in higher education. This strategic partnership aims to enhance educational quality, research output, and global visibility, benefiting both universities and their wider academic communities.
The meeting between Northern Technical University, Iraq, and Shiraz University of Technology, Iran, conducted on the 3rd of March 2025 reaffirmation of the commitment of Northern Technical University – Iraq and Shiraz University of Technology – Iran to strengthening academic and research collaboration between the two institutions. Both parties agreed on practical steps to activate the partnership, including faculty exchange programs, joint research projects, and the enhancement of student exchange and technical training programs.
The participants emphasized the importance of maintaining continuous communication to monitor the implementation of agreements and address potential challenges. They also agreed to schedule a follow-up meeting to review progress and explore further areas of mutual interest.
The meeting successfully concluded with positive expectations for a fruitful future collaboration between the two universities.
The First NTU Students Congress on Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Technical Engineering College of Northern Technical University in Kirkuk, Iraq. This pioneering event aims to bring together students, researchers, and industry professionals to explore and discuss the latest developments and future directions in these critical fields. Key topics will include cutting-edge advancements in computer networking, AI technologies, and innovative cybersecurity strategies. The congress provides a dynamic platform for participants to present research, exchange ideas, and collaborate on addressing current challenges, thereby fostering academic excellence and promoting innovation in the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The Technical Engineering College in Kirkuk organized the 1st Student Congress on Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity, aiming to raise awareness of the importance of these technologies across various fields and to provide students with opportunities to exchange experiences and knowledge.
The forum witnessed broad participation from students, professors, and experts in the fields of computer networks, AI, and cybersecurity. Numerous research presentations and talks were delivered on the latest developments in these areas.
In his opening speech, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Asst. Prof. Dr. Muntadher Eidi Sharif, emphasized the importance of these technologies in improving quality of life and advancing industry and the economy. He pointed out that this conference is a valuable opportunity for exchanging expertise and enhancing collaboration among students, faculty, and specialists.
Dr. Fadhil Mukhlif Al-Obaidi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, stated:
"We are pleased to host this forum, which aims to enhance awareness of the importance of computer networks, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. We hope this conference marks the beginning of continuous efforts to promote development in these areas in Iraq".

I had the pleasure of delivering a practical training workshop entitled “Email Communication and Building Professional & Personal Identity”, organized by the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit in collaboration with the Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies at the Technical Engineering College of Computer and Artificial Intelligence – Kirkuk.
The workshop focused on:
-Building a strong digital professional identity
-Writing professional and effective emails
-Designing electronic signatures
-Creating and optimizing academic and professional profiles on platforms such as LinkedIn, ResearchGate, and Google Scholar
-Applying privacy and security standards for digital platforms
