Reading Activities

June 21st-25th

  1. Read to your pet or a stuffed animal

  2. Read a book about sports

  3. Read a book that makes you laugh

  4. Build a cozy corner and read -- put pillows and blankets in a corner of the room to make it cozy, then snuggle up and read.

  5. Read a book about cats.

  6. Read a book about science.

  7. Read aloud in a funny accent

  8. Let one of your parents choose a book and then read it together.

  9. Listen to an audiobook-- there are many available on Epic and Sora.

  10. Read a book about a place you would like to visit

  11. Read a book about weather. Draw a picture of what the weather is like today.

  12. Read a book from your parent’s childhood.

  13. Read a biography

  14. Read a book and then draw a picture of your favorite part.

  15. Read a fairytale

  16. Read a book about bugs. Go outside and look (just look –don’t touch) for bugs. Draw pictures of the different bugs you saw outside.

  17. Read a book under a tree

  18. Read a book about art

  19. Read a book about animals

  20. Read a book about clouds. Draw a picture of what the clouds look like today.



June 14th-18th

  1. Read under the covers with a flashlight

  2. Read a book outside

  3. Read a book with a family member you live with

  4. Read a magazine

  5. Read a historical fiction story

  6. Read a book dressed as one of the characters.

  7. Read a book about dogs

  8. Read a book in a tent (Don't have a tent? -- Make a tent with blankets and chairs)

  9. Read a biography

  10. Read a book and then draw a picture of your favorite part.

  11. Read a fairytale

  12. Read a book about bugs. Go outside and look (just look –don’t touch) for bugs. Draw pictures of the different bugs you saw outside.
