Our school library program is designed to help all students gain skills and independence in reading, speaking, listening, writing, and to encourage students to find books they will love and enjoy reading.
Additionally, the library program works with classroom teachers to support student learning by providing resources and services to support class projects and STEM initiatives.
Reading is Important
This year in library class we will explore the joys of reading and learn how to find and select library books. Please read with your child and encourage him or her to look at, read, and enjoy the books your child brings home.
"Reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It helps them develop language and listening skills and prepares them to understand the written word. ... Even after children learn to read by themselves, it's still important for you to read aloud together." (http://www.readingrockets.org - Adapted from: Helping Your Child Learn to Read. (1996).
