Personalized & Blended Learning
Defining Terms
What is Personalized Learning?
Personalization allows students to get the instruction and direction they need, when they need it. We can personalize by differentiating & scaffolding for students, varying the pace for students, and by focusing on identity, interest and agency with students.
What is Blended Learning?
Leverages technology to create a learning environment where students have daily opportunities for individualized learning and teachers have the opportunities, resources and time to differentiate small group instruction in the classroom.
What is Differentiation?
Adjusting instruction, content, classroom support, and opportunities based on current proficiency levels, cognitive skills, and social-emotional profiles.
What is Learner Agency?
Emphasizing self-directed learning and student ownership by offering students increased voice and choice empowering students as individuals with unique strengths, interests and identities.
