Music Appreciation

Music Appreciation focuses on the general understanding of the art of listening by exploring components of ear training, theory, composition, and music history. Students learn how to perceive and react to the artistic content of music. The art, social, historical, and literary influences of all periods are discussed with emphasis on how they relate to music. This course enriches the students' knowledge of music and help to develop a greater appreciation of our musical heritage. A variety of media will be used in this class. Previous musical knowledge is not required.

This class is a .5 credit, 1 semester course.
