Imaging Physics Laboratory
Welcome to the home page for the Imaging Physics Laboratory, IPL, at the University of Houston. The IPL was formed with a mission to explore advanced imaging physics, optical physics, algorithms, and instrumentation for applications in various area of biology, medicine, defense & security, biophysics, material sciences, and geoscience. Our interdisciplinary research has broader applications both in fundamental understanding and applied research. Please check out the links on top of this page to learn more about our group.
We gratefully acknowledge current and past funding support for our research by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Defense, the National Institutes of Health and the University of Houston.
Research key words: Optical Physics, Optical components, Spectral x-ray imaging, Bio-photonics, Medical imaging, Tomography, Photon counting x-ray detectors, Tomographic reconstruction methods for sparse data, Image science, machine learning, Image perception, Microscopy.
IPL is located at Science and Research Building 1 (SR1), Room 419 on UH main Campus.
