Norris Elementary Library
Elementary Library Goal
To encourage a love of reading and learning in all students.
The goal of the Norris Elementary School Library is to encourage the love of reading and learning in all students. Students visit the library on a five-day rotation. During their time in the library, students learn book care, literacy lessons, research, author studies, digital citizenship, technology (including the use of BeeBots), and other STEAM avenues are explored. Book Fairs are hosted twice a year and proceeds help to purchase books for our library, our teachers, and our students.
Students are able to check out at every library class as follows:
Kindergarten: one book
First Grade: one book
Second Grade: two books
All checkouts are for a duration of two weeks, although most students will checkout at each library class.
Preschool students are also supplied with library books to checkout and that schedule is provided by the preschool teachers.
No fines are issued for late returns; however, if damaged or lost, a replacement fee is assessed.
