As a teacher it is important to me to collaborate with families as a team in order to understand their child better.

*Be patient
*Don't hesitate to contact the teacher
*Have goals that you want to reach
*Work together for the sake of your child
*Only reveal information that will be useful to the teacher in helping your child/keep professional
*Communicate with an open mind
*Be willing to provide positive ideas to best help your child or provide understanding
Most of all, remember that most teachers, especially myself, have the best intent, and we are people too. So be respectful and always assume we are trying to do what is best for your kid. Below is a link to a video that can provide an addition insight to a parent teacher conference scenario.
