For Parents

Each class visits the library once a week to listen to stories and find books to borrow. At the beginning of the school year we talk about how to take care of books. It is important that food or drink (and very young siblings or pets!) do not come in contact with library books! We also talk about the students' responsibility in remembering to bring the books they borrow back to school when they have finished reading them. A helpful idea is to have a special place at home for library book so they will stay neat and clean, and be easy to find when it is time to return them. We encourage children to keep their books until they are finished reading them, so they do not have to return the book the week after they have borrowed it. They can renew their books, even without bringing them back to the library! At times, students can choose a new book to borrow. even if they have not returned a library book. If a book your child has borrowed from the library should be lost or damaged, please let me know, so we can arrange to replace it. We know your child will be bringing home lots of wonderful books from the library! Please contact me if you ever have questions or concerns.
